Born in Cyprus, he lives and works in Limassol.

He studied philosophy and history at the Southeast Missouri State University, USA with emphasis on history of art and theory, receiving his masters and doctorate from the University of Essex in the U.K.

He joined the academic staff of the Cyprus University of Technology in Limassol, where he is now Assistant Professor in Art History and Theory in the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts.

His research interests include the theories of nationalism and post-colonialism, the ideological and aesthetic construction of collective identities, Modern Greek and contemporary Cypriot art, art criticism and historiography, and issues of gender and sexuality in art.

He has curated several exhibitions of Cypriot art in Cyprus, Greece and the UK and has edited various exhibition catalogues writing his own critical analysis texts. In addition he has published other articles and a two-volume publication dedicated to the work of Cypriot Artists of the Second Generation. Also he has contributed texts in monographs on Modern Greek and Contemporary Cypriot art. With his work he has contributed fundamentally to the development of research on issues of Contemporary History of Art in Cyprus.
